Background This hotel is the first in Germany for Hyatt’s Andaz lifestyle brand.

Where is it? Near the English Garden and in the growing Schwabing district, the property is especially convenient to numerous corporate offices as well as a short bike ride to many of the city’s tourist attractions.

What’s it like? With plenty of Bavarian influence, designers paid special attention to the décor so that it reflects the region. This includes a lifestyle pretzel statue as a centerpiece to the lobby as well as a video installation showing the stunning Bavarian sky and clouds. The refined staff wears slick outfits and are incredibly friendly. Andaz has a new collaboration with The Society of Scent that incorporates local ingredients, smells, flavors and memories into a signature scent designed to be diffused in various parts of the hotel.

Rooms The 277 rooms and suites have expansive windows overlooking the neighborhood with Bavarian influences in the décor and plush beds sporting thick s and pillows. The minibar offers free non-alcoholic drinks and the snacks include many locally-made goodies restocked daily. Most rooms feature open-plan baths with a privacy divider, and the hotel’s toiletries were specially created by La Bottega and Saskia Diaz. Banquette seating by the window is the perfect place to work for those who don’t want to use the wide desks with international power outlets.

Food and drink The Lonely Broccoli is a cleverly named dining venue serving a meat-heavy menu, but not without a few dishes for vegetarian customers. It is home to an impressive breakfast buffet with live cooking stations. It also offers two chef’s tables and a private dining room. The city’s highest bar and rooftop terrace, Rooftop M’Uniqo, offers exceptional views  of the sunset. Bicicletta is the upscale coffee bar and café meant to draw in the neighborhood for fresh salads, sandwiches and gourmet coffee. Its name reflects the variety of vintage and modern bicycles hanging overhead as decoration. Light bites are always available at the deli-style Café M.

Business and Meeting Facilities: The hotel features over 21,000 square feet of meeting space that can be organized based upon group size and needs. The unique kitchen-style gathering space lets groups cook and dine together.

Leisure; The fitness center has modern workout and free weight equipment, and since the health club has local members, there’s a strong focus on staying cutting edge. Andaz Spa is one of the city’s largest and impresses with its distinctive product lines for men (EBENHOLZ Skincare) and women (TEAM Dr. Joseph).
