Bon Jovi and Son to Lead Virtual Wine Tasting

by Business Traveler

April 23, 2020

Many Americans are looking for ways to stay busy and destress during the coronavirus pandemic. A recent Overseas Leisure Group study, and while that may not be possible or advisable, experiencing travel from home has become quite the trend.

Several travel brands are getting creative with virtual activities, and well-known celebrities, chefs, and musicians are getting in on the action, too.

Music legend Jon Bon Jovi and his entrepreneur son and Hampton Water creator Jesse Bongiovi are among the latest to announce an online event. They will lead a virtual wine tasting in partnership with winemaker Gérard Bertrand, on April 28th on Wine.com.

The event is available to anyone interested in joining via Zoom. People can taste along with them by purchasing the Hampton Water Rosé online, which is being offered at a 20 percent discount in honor of the event.

Gérard Bertrand is the owner of 15 wine-growing estates and a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture. He has long promoted healthy agricultural practices, which in tandem with Earth Day, is top of mind for many people.

Hampton Water Rosé is known for the way it blends the flavors of southern France with the Hamptons, according to Gérard Bertrand, who was born in the south of France. Bongiovi based the idea for Hampton Water on his time living in the Hamptons.

Rosé wine is a favorite of the Bongiovi family, and Jon Bon Jovi often referred to it as “pink juice,” according to his son, who developed the brand. This is how the name Hampton Water was born.

The grapes for this wine come from the Languedoc region of France and bears a solid blend of fruity, floral, and mineral flavors. It includes Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes. For the past two years, his label has received a “90 Pt rating” from Wine Spectator. In 2018, it was featured in the magazine’s Top 100 List.

Rosé wine is a popular spring and summertime beverage, and this can be a great way to try something new while staying home. This wine is best served with light foods like salads and seafood, and there have been no shortage of virtual cooking tutorials to get you started.

To register for this star-studded wine tasting, sign up online so that you can join the event via Zoom. While we cannot travel and experience new sights, sounds and flavors, all hope should not be lost. In honor of some of our favorite inflight wines and spirits, this creative wine tasting could be a worthy alternative for the time being. Cheers and santé!
