Etihad Airways Opens Premium Class Lounge at JFK

The coming of age and launch of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus 380 provided a platform to Etihad for a step change for design, service, product, design and comfort.

In line with the design launched in the roll-out of Etihad Airways new branding in September of 2014 (rollout of Etihad Airline’s new branding), the new lounge in New York is adorned with distinct style elements reminiscent of “Facets of Abu Dhabi,” as well as the ambitions of the destination, and part of their master plan and aspirations of an “Arabian Modernization.” 

 

The new premium lounge at JFK is part of a portfolio of global lounges that current includes Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Manchester, Dublin, Paris, Sydney, and Washington, D.C.

Mr. James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways said, “The opening of Etihad Airways’ new First and Business Class Lounge at New York’s JFK International Airport reinforces our commitment to investing in the travel experience and providing our guests with the highest levels of comfort, luxury and world-class hospitality at every point in their travel journey – on the ground and in the air.”

As a frequent traveler, upon entering the lounge you already know that style is back in aviation and you feel the hospitality of a welcomed guest. 

The new lounge offers guests a unique travel environment reflecting twenty-first century Abu Dhabi modernism.  Dining and relaxing at the bar are also unique in themselves.  A la Carte ordering is welcomed as the lounge offers a full kitchen service as well as a small hot buffet for quick bites. 

Alongside personalize food is a pleather of drink options including curated cocktails designed by renowned mixologists from the London based Fluid Movement.  Each mocktail created by these liquid genius’ represent the flavors of major destinations Etihad Airways flies.

Regardless of that represent the flavors of, the lounge is adorned with expansive and exclusive views with floor to ceiling windows.  Close to your gate, fans of aviation can admire the beautiful aircraft passing.  Even on a foggy day, Etihad’s A380 superjumbo is a site of awe.

True to the inflight experience and unlike any commercial lounge seen, A private lounge is accessible exclusively to guests travelling The Residence by Etihad™.  It also is inspired by traditional Emirati design patterns, the landscapes of the desert and the geometric shapes found in the modern architecture of Abu Dhabi.

Guests of the private lounge have their own shower and restroom, prayer room, dining and “living” area.

Etihad Airways guests traveling in The Residence by Etihad™, First Apartments or Business Studios have access to the lounge pre-flight.  Custom furnishings throughout, the lounge also features dedicated male and female ablution and prayer rooms, a library and luxurious restrooms with showers and changing rooms.

Premium travelers flying with Etihad will make time to relax and enjoy this new lounge before embarking on to Abu Dhabi and beyond.
