Qatar Airways opens premium lounge at Hamad International
Qatar Airways has opened its Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Doha's Hamad International Airport.
The 10,000 sqm facility is spread across two levels and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests at a time.
It is open to Qatar Airways and Oneworld first and business class passengers until the Al Safwa First Class Lounge opens as part of the airport's phased development.
The lounge features dining options from light bites to seated eating, private quiet rooms, family spaces, games rooms for children, a smoking area and shower rooms with free amenities.
It also contains a 15-metre by seven-metre "infinity pool water feature" that sits at the base of a sprial staircase that connects the two levels.
Also available is a business centre containing a conference area, personal workstations, and printers and scanners.
Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways' CEO, said: "Qatar Airways has been known for years for our award-winning Premium Terminal at DIA."
He added: "We are now very pleased to be able to offer our Premium passengers our new premium lounge, which sets new benchmarks in airport luxury and will far exceed our passengers' expectations.
"Qatar Airways does not compromise on quality and the Al Mourjan lounge is the perfect example of this as it is the epitome of comfort, convenience and five-star service that our Premium class passengers have come to expect from us. We look forward to welcoming them to this superior lounge experience."
Qatar Airways moved into Hamad International Airport in May (see news, May 12).

Does anyone know if Qatar have changed their lounge entry policy? i.e. can a Qatar economy PAX flying with a One World Emerald card gain entry?

Last I heard they have reverted back to old draconian policies since the new lounge opened. I.e. Premium passengers only.
