Air Canada Changes Economy Fare Structure

Air Canada has unveiled an expanded range of North America Economy fares that are designed, the airline said, to give customers greater flexibility. As part of the restructuring, Air Canada is introducing a new Comfort fare that provides customers with a wide range of features, including complimentary access to Preferred Seats, and the option to purchase other amenities such as Maple Leaf Lounge access.

All Economy fare types offer customers complimentary carry-on baggage, free inflight entertainment and the option to purchase onboard WiFi access where available. The differences involve fare refundability, checked-bag fees, loyalty program accrual, lounge access, advance seat selection and more. The Economy fare types include, in order of flexibility: Latitude, Comfort, Flex, Standard and Basic.
