American Airlines is changing flight numbers as one of the steps in its proposed merger with US Airways.

The change will be rolled out beginning June 12 with American Eagle and ExpressJet flight numbers.

American Airlines filed for Chapter 11 in November 2011. The airline has since signed an NDA with US Airways so they could begin exchanging confidential information around the merger. It has yet-to-be determined whether the new airline would be branded as US Airways or American Airlines.
