Delta continues to improve its Sky Clubs and has opened Sky Decks at two of its largest locations – Atlanta and JFK.  The Sky Decks are outdoor terraces that are situated just off of the Sky Clubs at the airports, which provide experiences daily.

“We see the Sky Deck summer series as a festival for the senses,” said Claude Roussel, Managing Director – Delta Sky Club. “This series is just one example of our initiative to revitalize and reinvent the Delta Sky Club experience, giving travelers yet another reason to fly Delta.”

The airline worked with Architectural Digest and designer Thom Filicia to create enjoyable destinations.  Then, the airline added the fun.

In Atlanta on Monday you can enjoy Champagne and Chocolates.  Tuesday brings Honeysuckle gelato for guests and Wednesday showcases Planes and Picnics. Thursday offers Smooth Jazz with Rosé and Friday offers Cuervo Rock on the runway with Margaritas, chips and rock ‘n roll music.  Saturday rounds up the week with Caribbean Calypso filled with live music and Don Q Rum Punch to keep folks refreshed.

New York’s JFK Sky Deck offers Planes and Picnics on Mondays with classic picnic favorites and Coca-Cola.  Tuesday brings Jazz on the Runway featuring a live sax. Wednesday is Rosé on the Runway -- a complimentary wine tasting.  Thursdayoffers Runway Rock with a live DJ and Friday rounds out the week with Cuervo Rock the Runway – who can complain about margaritas, chips and rock ‘n roll?

The experiences at the Atlanta Concourse F and New York-JFK T-4 Clubs are available between mid-afternoon and 6 p.m.

It will be interesting to see how the outdoor experience at the airport goes in the heat of the summer with the plane noise.  I’m not sure if I’m a fan yet but if I end up in JFK or Atlanta, I’ll definitely give it a try.
