The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center will undergo $30 million in renovations starting in February 2014.

Renovations will start with the hotel’s 1,329 guestrooms, which are expected to take about a year to renovate. In the spring, the 100,000 square feet of meeting space will start to undergo renovations, which should be complete by fall 2014.

The new guestroom color palette consists of neutrals with teal accents. New amenities include a new line of personal care items, new bedding and new linens.

Meeting spaces will have a sunset color palette including mauve, taupe, purple and brown.

The hotel will also be able to offer mobile check-in, which is rolling out to 325 Marriott-branded properties.

The 70-floor hotel will be open throughout the project.
