The luxury Elysian Hotel in Chicago will be rebranded under Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria portfolio from the start of February.
The hotel is located within a 200 metre-high building on East Walton Street, and has operated as the Elysian Hotel Chicago since it was opened in late 2009.
From February 1 the property will be known as the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, the first hotel under Hilton’s luxury brand in the Windy City.

The hotel has a total of 188 rooms and suites, with features including “cozy fireplaces”, inset LCD TVs in guest bathrooms, and Rivolta Carmignani Italian bed linen.
Facilities include two-Michelin star restaurant RIA, a 1,300sqm spa and health club, and over 400sqm of meeting space including a ballroom accommodating up to 270 guests.
The majority of hotels under the Waldorf Astoria brand are located in North America, although a property was added within London’s Syon Park in 2011 (see online news March 15, 2011).
The Waldorf Astoria Berlin is set to open this September, and the The Caledonian Hilton Edinburgh is to be rebranded as The Caledonian, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel this summer (see online news June 10, 2011).
