KLM Unveils Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol

Dutch carrier KLM today unveiled its new Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol.

Right now the non-Schengen lounge has been only partially opened.

Passengers will find it located between the airport’s E and F piers.

This lounge is aimed at KLM’s premium travellers who are flying long-haul.

As readers will know the Dutch airline fuels its network with sixth-freedom customers (those who travel via, rather than to or from, Amsterdam).

KLM links a multitude of different countries and cities around the world carrying dozens of different nationalities. It therefore must impress a huge global audience at Schiphol – its hub airport.

The airline’s EVP customer experience Boet Kreiken makes a bold claim for Crown Lounge. He says, “KLM aims to offer the most attractive lounge in the world; a destination in itself.”

“The new lounge concept ties in seamlessly with KLM’s strategy which is to provide the ultimate hospitality experience, innovation and perfect customer service.”

Crown Lounge boasts new service and catering concepts. There is new décor, fittings and fixtures.

It will be fully open by summer 2019 when the number of available seats will almost double to 1,500. Its size will expand from 3,600 m2 now to 6,800 m2.
