United employees, friends and families participated in March for Babies walk events across the country to support the March of Dimes Mission: We help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.

The original goal was to raise $1.2 million during the walk events.  The team reports they plan to double that number by the end of the campaign based on the results of the last two weekends.

"United employees are doing a remarkable job of giving more babies a healthy start in life. The March of Dimes thanks them for their leadership in raising funds to support research and other much-needed programs for families in their communities and across the nation," said March of Dimes President Dr. Jennifer L. Howse.

Over the past 10 years, United employees have contributed more than $7 million to the March of Dimes and have walked more than 40,000 miles in March for Babies events nationwide.  As previously reported in Business Traveler, United marked the 10-year anniversary with a new purple plane wrapped in a March of Dimes livery to bring continued visibility to this important effort.

Kudos United.  It’s great to see the hard work pay off and benefit those in all of our communities.
