French hotel giant Accor has rolled out its extended stay Movenpick Living brand in Europe with the signing of two properties. The brand offers stays of up to 120 days, and aims to combine “the comfort and privacy of home, with hotel services on top,” according to the company.

The first property in Europe will be the Movenpick Istanbul, with a planned opening in 2021. It will offer one, two and three-bedroom apartments, a “sky villa” and garden villa with outdoor terrace, swimming pool, spa, hammam, sauna and restaurant.

In the Surselva Region of Switzerland a dual-branded Movenpick Living property and Movenpick hotel is set to open in early 2024 in Disentis ski resort. It will feature 91 apartments and 150 hotel rooms, as well as restaurants, a bar, children’s play area and spa.

The Movenpick Living announcement comes as part of a wider expansion for the Movenpick group, which Accor acquired in 2018. A total of ten Movenpick hotels have been signed this year, six of them in Europe in locations including Basel, Brussels and Split.

Australia’s first Movenpick property, the 221-room Movenpick Hotel Hobart, is set to open in January.

In addition, Accor Group recently announced the launch of apartmentsandvillas.accor.com, a website that offers a portfolio of over 50,000 accommodations in 350-plus destinations, including Accor’s 15 extended stay hotel brands, privately-owned branded residences and private rentals from Onefinestay, the London-based luxury serviced homes provider which Accor acquired in 2016.
