American Airlines Debuts Online Travel Restrictions Guide

New tool shows updated COVID-19 guidelines for domestic and international destinations

With COVID-19 travel restrictions around the world subject to frequent changes, American Airlines has launched a new online solution that allows customers to see the current coronavirus travel guidelines and restrictions for the airline’s domestic and international destinations.

The travel guide can be accessed at aa.com on the travel updates page, under the Travel Restrictions section.

“When a destination is entered, results will show up-to-date guideline information, as well as travel requirements such as face covering guidelines, health documentation and quarantine rules,” reads a statement from American.

American’s online tool is one of a number solutions which have been fielded recently in response to constantly changing – and frequently confusing – governmental measures intended to halt the spread of the coronavirus globally.

United Airlines is offering a similar interactive map on its website outlining ever-changing restrictions for its destinations. And Airports Council International has also launched an app to provide updated health requirements at airports around the world.

The addition of the new travel guidelines tool is part of American Airlines “Clean Commitment” initiative, a series of safety measures the airline is taking in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during travel.

Last month, the airline announced that it will be spraying a “virus-killing” coating on aircraft surfaces to enhance disinfection procedures and boost consumer confidence in air travel amid the coronavirus pandemic.
