Audi-owned, App-based Car Rental Company Silvercar adds Business Travel Program
As I've written before, I'm a big fan of Silvercar by Audi.
The app-based, Audi-owned, Audi-only car rental company really has revolutionized the car rental process while offering very cool cars. Now Silvercar has launched a new business travel program, offering two key money-saving features. The program extends a 15% discount off rentals booked by December 31 for business travelers and a free fuel fill-up on return, meaning no empty tank charges.
All renters get great Audi vehicles to drive, with no added charges for premium features like Wi-Fi, satellite radio and GPS. All Silvercar customers will also continue to benefit from no fuel upcharges, no mileage restrictions, no additional fees for toll charges, and no fees for luxury Peg Perego car seats.
The car rental process is entirely app-based (other than driving the car). You reserve the car on the Silvercar app, on arrival at the airport the app tells you where to go (if you’re flying). You use the app to scan a barcode on the car windshield, the app opens the car and the key is inside. There are no offices, no waiting in line, no paperwork. You confirm the rental is starting on the app and drive away. At the end, you drop the car off and end the rental on the app, a receipt is mailed to you. Most locations provide airport drop-off (and pick-up too).
Silvercar by Audi also announced they will launch a downtown San Francisco location as another premium carrental option for urban travelers in addition to the San Francisco International Airport location. Silvercar will now be available in 25 locations throughout the U.S. including Miami (MIA), Chicago (ORD), New York and Los Angeles (LAX). Acquired by Audi in 2017, Silvercar has doubled down on its plans to expand its footprint. The company has opened nine new locations in recent months, including Charlotte, Washington D.C., Orange County, San Diego, and Tampa.
The Silvercar rental fleet includes Audi A4 sedans, Q5 SUVs and A5 Cabriolets (convertibles) with onboard Wi-Fi, navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio—always included at no additional cost. Audi vehicles also offer excellent driving dynamics with elevated design and advanced technology, including quattro® all-wheel drive, Audi virtual cockpit with Google Earth™, and Audi smartphone interface. Prices start at $59 per day for the Audi A4 and $79 a day for the Audi Q5.
