March 3, 2020

Delta is settling into Seattle with a cascade of  options for summer travel — more than ever before with the launch of new, three-times daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth, new nonstop service to Columbus, Ohio, and expanded service to a dozen popular destinations: Anchorage; Atlanta; Austin; Boise, Idaho; Boston; Bozeman, Mont.; Kansas City; Las Vegas; Orlando; Spokane, Wash.; Tampa; and Washington-Dulles.

These additions mean Delta will offer 190 daily departures to 56 destinations this summer from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Dallas/Fort Worth marks Delta’s second Texas destination from Sea-Tac, building on the Austin service launched in 2017.

Delta plans to launch nonstop service to London-Heathrow in 2021. The route expands the airline’s robust offerings in Seattle. Destination London joins Delta’s existing nine international markets from that hub. The service also complements partner Virgin Atlantic’s twice-daily service and offers customers the choice of three daily flights.

“With our extensive partner service from Seattle on Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Korean Air and Aeromexico, customers can expect a seamless journey across the globe,” said Tony Gonchar, Delta’s Vice President — Seattle.

Summer Destinations and Expanded Service

Delta’s overall domestic summer service from Seattle includes top leisure and business destinations.

Starting June 8, Delta will launch:

• Three daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth

• New daily flight to Columbus, Ohio

• A second flight to Austin

• A second flight to Orlando

These flights to Dallas, Columbus and Austin will operate on Airbus A220 aircraft; the Orlando service will operate on a Boeing 737-900. The schedules will operate as follows:

These new offerings join more service expansions previously announced, including:

• Tampa service beginning in March

• A fourth daily flight to Boston

• A second flight to Kansas City and Washington, D.C. (IAD) beginning this summer

• Twice daily flights to Bozeman, Mont.

• More flights and seats to Anchorage, Atlanta, Boise, Las Vegas, and Spokane, Wash., including a convenient evening service for Atlanta business travelers

Upgrading the Aircraft in Seattle

Delta is upgrading aircraft on 70 percent of flights from Seattle operated on larger mainline aircraft like the Boeing 737-900 and Airbus A321. Those traveling to popular leisure and business destinations can expect elevated onboard experience on fuel-efficient Airbus A220, A330-900neo and A350 aircraft.

In addition to new and expanded service to Dallas/Fort Worth, Columbus and Austin, the quiet and spacious A220 will also operate to service top business markets like San Francisco, San Jose, Denver and Kansas City.  Seattle-to-Orange County flights will be upgraded to the A220 starting Aug. 17, 2020.

Customers flying to Seoul, Amsterdam or the upcoming launch of service to Haneda can connect on Delta’s newest widebody, the A330-900neo, which features all four seat experiences: Delta One Suite, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and an improved Main Cabin.

Delta has been undertaking a multi-year effort to achieve more sustainable air travel. It has been voluntarily capping greenhouse gas emissions at 2012 levels, and added more than 80 new aircraft in 2019 to renew its fleet with aircraft that are 25 percent more fuel efficient than the aircraft they are replacing. The airline also recently announced a $1 billion commitment over the next 10 years to mitigate all emissions from March 2020 forward.

Regarding the inflight experience, nearly 70 percent of Delta’s domestic flights from Seattle offer seat-back screens featuring free premium entertainment on Delta Studio. All domestic flights include a First Class cabin and WiFi connectivity.

Delta has also worked closely with the Port of Seattle on the new $766 million, 450,000-square-foot international arrivals facility, scheduled to open later this year.
