Finnair is expanding its network in the US, with the announcement of services between Helsinki and Seattle to launch June 1, 2022. The three-times-weekly flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Finnish carrier is also continuing to operate direct flights to New York JFK and Los Angeles International from Stockholm during the summer season. Beginning May 1, the airline will increase the frequencies for these connections, operating the New York flights daily, and the LA service four times per week.
The airline will also fly from Helsinki to Dallas, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago in the summer season 2022, part of the carrier’s announced push to expand its network to nearly 100 destinations next year.
Finnair’s increased services at Helsinki’s airport coincide with the completion of the new Terminal 2, which opened at the beginning of December. The T2 opening marks the latest phase in a €900 million ($1.15 billion) seven-year development program announced in 2013 by airport operator Finivia Corporation.
“We are delighted to offer more connections between the US and Northern Europe,” commented Finnair’s chief commercial officer Ole Orver. “Seattle is a fantastic destination for leisure travelers who enjoy vibrant city life and beautiful nature. We also expect this new connection to be a pleasant surprise for many business travelers.”
