Hilton has announced the addition of the Hotel Cosmopolita in Rome, the first hotel under its Tapestry Collection brand in Italy.
The property, located on Via di Santa Eufemia, close to Piazza Venezia and around a half-mile north of the Colosseum, will rebranded as Cosmopolita Rome, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in early 2022.
The hotel’s 76 guest rooms and rooftop garden are currently undergoing refurbishment, and the fitness center has also been renovated. The group’s website says the hotel will open on January 28, although reservations are not yet being taken.
Cosmopolita Rome will join seven other Hilton properties in the city, under the group’s Curio Collection, Doubletree, Garden Inn, Hampton, Hilton Hotels and Resorts and Waldorf Astoria brands. The Hilton Rome Eur La Lama is also set to open in August next year.
“In the coming years, we are due to open eight new hotels in Italy, significantly expanding our footprint in key cities and resorts,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton’s senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“Italy, like many of its European neighbors, has a large number of independent hotels that would benefit from visibility from Hilton’s 118 million Hilton Honors members, and as a result we’re seeing growing interest in Hilton’s Collection Brands.
Hilton launched the Tapestry Collection brand in 2017, and currently has nearly 90 properties either operating or under development, including the Yucatan Resort Playa del Carmen, the first all-inclusive resort in the Tapestry Collection portfolio which opened in June.
Hilton describes the brand as a portfolio of “original hotels that offer guests unique style and vibrant personality, and encourage guests to explore the local destination.”
