WHERE IS IT In El Segundo and just a short drive from LAX and nearby beaches, this hotel serves dual purposes as it is convenient for a quick layover or for those with business in the area. Tourists will find that this is a great alternative to pricier properties near the water. A free shuttle takes guests to and from the airport although the hotel also offers free parking. It is only one block from nearby public transportation.

WHAT’S IT LIKE? This is one of Choice Hotels’ newer brands and is a business traveler favorite thanks to oversized rooms with comfortable bedding and lounge areas with side tables. The lobby has communal tables as well as conversation-style seating areas with ample power outlets. Contemporary décor and modern design are standard and quite the nice surprise at this price point. I was especially excited to learn that when guests stay at a Cambria and join the Choice Hotels’ loyalty program, they automatically receive a $10 credit for food and beverage at the hotel. Choice Hotels alsostatus matches elite members from other hotel programs to the equivalent tier with Choice Rewards.

ROOM FACILITIES Guest rooms are spacious with bright foyers that give way to large bathrooms with excellent lighting and water pressure in glass shower stalls. The mirrors can be brightened, which is a nice touch, and the eco-friendly PURE toiletries are paraben-free. Beds feature soft duvets and plush pillows with nightstands equipped with power and USB outlets. In addition to wide counter space, a sofa by the window has side tables that can be pulled toward the edge so that guests can work while lounging. A vanity, which can double as a desk, is tucked into the corner and features an additional large mirror that can be brightened with the touch of a button.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS Cambria properties have a restaurant and bar that serves a tasty breakfast buffet each morning. Later, the space converts into an area for guests to relax, but they can also order drinks and light, made-to-order meals from the bar.
