Hyatt has announced the opening of the Thompson Savannah, the first of two properties under the lifestyle Thompson Hotels brand in the state of Georgia.
The Savannah launch is the fourth of six Thompson properties Hyatt is opening across Texas and Georgia. Thompson hotels are already opened in Dallas, San Antonio, Nashville, with Austin coming this fall and the second Georgia property in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood promised in “late 2021.”
Located between the city’s Historic District and Eastern Wharf, the Thompson Savannah’s tower is set perpendicular to the Savannah River giving all 193 guestrooms either west-facing views of the cityscape, or east-facing views of the river, the coastal islands and the Atlantic Ocean.
The hotel features a seasonally focused signature restaurant and a Mediterranean-influenced rooftop bar. Amenities include a splash pool, fitness center and 10,000 square feet of events space.
Thompson Hotels joined Hyatt in 2019, following the group’s purchase of lifestyle hotel management company Two Roads Hospitality. The lifestyle brand also joined the World of Hyatt loyalty program in March 2019.
