IHG Hotels and Resorts it is once again extending member status in its IHG Rewards loyalty program, this time until the end of February 2023. Previously the group had extended elite status until January 2022.
While the group has yet to make an official announcement to the media, the move has been posted on its website on the Stay with Confidence page: “All members’ program status has been automatically extended through February 2023.”
The extension applies to all active Gold, Platinum Elite and Spire Elite members. The notification on the website also states that “for Platinum and Spire Elite members, all qualifying nights earned in 2021 above the tier threshold, will be rolled over into 2022 and count towards status earned in 2023.”
The hotel group has also extended the expiration for IHG Rewards Club Credit Card Anniversary Night Certificates awarded in 2021. The certificates are now redeemable through Dec. 31, 2022.
The move makes IHG the third major hotel group to announce extension of members’ status into 2023. Hilton extended status in its Hilton Honors program until March 31, 2023, and Marriott Bonvoy has announced its members would retain 2021 Elite status through February 2023.
