InterContinental Hotels Group has announced enhancements to its Meet with Confidence program to include new flexible booking options and prioritize guest health and wellbeing by integrating the ‘IHG Way of Clean’ practices and procedures.
The hotel group says the program will provide “appropriate and creative meeting and event solutions without compromising on the experience or the flexibility that meeting planners require.” IHG has also introduced technology solutions to support virtual and hybrid meetings.
Measures include event spaces set up for social distancing, with a greater focus on outdoor spaces where possible. Spaces will be clutter-free, with tables and chairs disinfected before every meeting or event and during breaks, and food handling and service guidelines will be enhanced.
Attendee flow will be managed with signage and staggered breaks where possible and sanitizer stations will be available throughout event venues.
The meeting planner or onsite contact will follow a Meet with Confidence checklist and make a pre-event inspection prior to the opening.
With the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic, plans will change. In response, IHG has done away with cancellation fees. In addition the group is offering up to a five percent rebate towards the master bill, and some bookings will be eligible for IHG Business Rewards points.
The flexible Meet with Confidence booking terms apply when booking 10 to 50 rooms during peak times (with or without a meeting room) at participating hotels for bookings before Dec. 31.
