Kempinski Hotels Heralds Spring in Istanbul

Çırağan Palace Kempinski celebrates with outdoor experiences by the Bosphorus

Celebrating its 30th anniversary under the management of Kempinski Hotels, the legendary hotel Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul is welcoming the first blossoms of spring with experiential outdoor activities. It’s the only Ottoman imperial hotel and palace hotel on the shores of the Bosphorus, easily identified with its striking location and extensive grounds – and all that comes with a history dating back to the 17th century. The Istanbul palace that once hosted sultans is now, as a Kempinski hotel, offering unique outdoor experiences, such as “the luxury picnic” by the waters or the brand-new pop-up Berthold.

Luxurious Picnic Experience by the Bosphorus

In a setting of comfortable and colorful cushions surrounded by fragrant gardens small groups can enjoy a feast full of delicious food and beverage options as well as the bespoke Çırağan Palace’s service. The luxurious picnic is offered to those who enjoy being outdoors with their loved ones – be it for a special event, a birthday or a family reunion right next to the magnificent Bosphorus. Guests will taste different types of cheese, delicious bread from the ovens of Çırağan Palace, salads with meat and seafood, vegetable dishes or handmade chocolates in this unique place is hard to beat. (Price starts at EUR 99 ($118) + VAT per person).

Berthold – a Brand-new Pop-up Venue

Another exciting outdoor venue on warm spring evenings is the new pop-up “Berthold” in the Palace gardens set against the backdrop of the Bosphorus. Named after Berthold Kempinski, founder of Kempinski Hotels and one of Berlin’s more innovative restaurateurs in the early years of the 20th century, this three-wheeler food cart was rebuilt with special parts from abroad to relate the story of Kempinski with a modern twist. Now it offers Turkish wines by the glass, sourced from local boutique wineries from all around Turkey, was well as a selection of deli meats and cheese varieties, various sandwiches, or hot dogs.
