Kempinski Reopens In China

The company has more than 20 properties in the country which had been shuttered by the COVID-19 pandemic

As coronavirus lockdowns ease in China, Kempinski Hotels has announced the reopening of all its hotels in the country. The company has more than 20 properties in China.

The hotel brand says it has implemented strict safety and hygiene procedures to comply with local government authorities and World Health Organization guidelines to guarantee guest and employee safety.

The new measures include mandatory temperature checks for everyone entering a hotel at each entrance, adherence to local laws on social distancing in all restaurants and public areas, posting public health certificates in public areas, daily air purification in dining outlets, rigorous enforcement of ingredient regulations, frequent disinfection of all equipment, and complimentary sanitizer and masks for guests and employees.

In response to the changing situation, Kempinski hotels in China have partnered with two leading food delivery companies to launch online food and beverage sales to ensure contactless services for their guests. Kempinski culinary teams have selected dishes that are best suited for long-distance delivery and have worked on improved packaging to ensure freshness.

Kempinski’s China restart reflects what many in the hotel industry see as a gradual return of demand in the Middle Kingdom. Hilton also recently announced the reopening of 150 of its hotels in Greater China which had been closed down since February.
