Korean Air Expands Checked Baggage Notification

The service, which sends bag status updates to passengers’ smartphones, will expand to all the carrier’s international airports this year

Korean Air has expanded its baggage notification service on more international flights. The service notifies customers through their smartphones that their checked baggage has been safely loaded on their flight.

Korean Air began the service last July in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Toronto, and Vancouver and recently added Atlanta, Boston, Seattle and Washington, DC, to the list.

The baggage notification system was one of the continuing process improvement factors cited when SkyTrax designated Korean Air a five-star airline in December.

The airline says it plans to expand the service this year to all its international airports.
