Hotel and residences will occupy 101-story skyscraper, the Windy City’s third tallest
Marriott International has announced that its luxury St Regis brand is coming to Chicago. The St. Regis Chicago and The Residences at The St. Regis Chicago will be located in the 101-story Vista Tower, a Jeanne Gang-designed skyscraper which is set to open in the city’s downtown Lakeshore East neighborhood.
The property will feature 191 hotel rooms, including 33 suites, and 393 branded residences and will span the skyscraper’s three towers. Once completed, the project – which originally began construction as the luxury Wanda Vista Hotel and Vista Tower – will be the city’s third tallest building.
The hotel has partnered with the Michelin-star rated Alinea Group to provide several dining venues, which will include an all-day restaurant overlooking the Chicago River, a sky bar with an outdoor terrace, and a fine dining restaurant with private rooms and outdoor terrace.
Further facilities will include over 7,500 square feet of meetings and events space, including a 5,000-square-foot ballroom, a fitness center, spa, swimming pool and outdoor pool terrace.
The Residences at the St. Regis Chicago occupy the 47th floor, offering such amenities as a dedicated residence entrance, sky terrace with outdoor pool, private resident lounge and dining room, fitness center, wine tasting room, theatre, golf simulator, children’s play area and exhibition kitchen.
The Residences is already open, and the hotel is set to open in July 2021. Marriott currently operates 45 luxury hotels and resorts under the St Regis brand. marriott.com
