Marriott Premieres Edition Hotel in Tokyo

The property is the first in Tokyo for Marriott’s luxury lifestyle brand created by Ian Schrager

Marriott International has opened the first of its Edition brand hotels in Tokyo. The Edition Toranomon offers 206 rooms, including 22 suites, occupies the 31st through 36th stories of the 38-story Tokyo World Gate, a new 591-foot mixed-use skyscraper located near the metro stations of Kamiyacho, Roppongi-Itchome and Toranomon.

The hotel features three restaurants and bars, headed by Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens. They include The Blue Room with all day dining and views of the city, while the menu at The Jade Room gives a sense of the local flavors of Japan. As is customary in Japan, both restaurants offer private dining rooms.

Finally, The Gold Bar at Edition “transitions seamlessly from a relaxed lounge during the day, with an afternoon traditional Japanese tea ceremony, with a twist, and an all-day food menu, to a sophisticated cocktail bar in the evenings.”

Outside The Jade Room, there is a Sky Garden floating over 450 feet above the street level, with over 500 plants, trees and shrubs. The outdoor restaurant will serve a small menu of sharing dishes, while the bar will offer a selection of specially curated cocktails.

There is also a spa offering healing and beauty treatments, a 24-hour gym and a white-tiled lap swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel also has four flexible meeting spaces with state-of-the-art technology which can be combined to create a large ballroom accommodating up to 250 guests.
