Marriott’s Autograph Collection Premieres in Singapore

The 49-room property was created from eight sustainably restored 19th century shophouses

Marriott International has announced the opening of its first Autograph Collection property in Singapore. The Duxton Reserve Singapore is a rebranding of the former Six Senses Duxton property located in the historic Tanjong Pagar district.

The hotel, created from eight sustainably restored 19th century shophouses, offers 49 rooms and suite that feature amenities such as a Naturalmat organic mattress, organic cotton bed linen by Beaumont and Brown and bathroom amenities by Etro.

Upon entering the property, guests are welcomed by large theatrical golden fans and strong hues of black, gold and yellow, layered with Oriental screens and calligraphy wallpaper from the collection of the hotel’s interior designer Anouska Hempel.

Food and beverage offerings include Yellow Pot, a modern Chinese restaurant which “follows the clean eating philosophy.” The hotel’s bar, Anouska’s, is described as “an ode to Bond girl turned interior designer” and serves the actress’ favorite drinks from around the world.

The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown, surrounded by attractions including the National Museum of Singapore and Asian Civilizations Museum. The area also boasts the highest concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants in the city.

“We are thrilled to continue to grow our presence in Singapore and introduce Autograph Collection Hotels to the country with the opening of Duxton Reserve Singapore,” said Rivero Delgado, Marriott International’s area vice president for Singapore, Malaysia and Maldives. “The opening marks the entry of Marriott International’s 11th brand into Singapore and further complements our growing footprint in the country.”

Since launching in 2010, the Autograph Collection has grown to include over 200 hotels around the world.
