Maui Resorts Re-Opening with Big Improvements

As Hawaii opens up with more air connectivity from top mainland gateways, hotels are working their magic to win loyal guests and pandemic-weary travelers something extra for their time and interest. For Four Seasons Resort Maui that means in-suite Peloton bikes and other creative new ways to stay active, all designed with health and safety top of mind.

“Exercise is essential to overall well-being, so I encourage all guests to find creative ways to work out,” advises Senior Spa Director Pat Makozak, who leads the resort’s wellness program, including fitness facilities and classes. “Luckily, there are a myriad of ways to stay active, whether it’s a Peloton session from the comfort of your own suite or you’re out and about exploring.”

The Resort recently introduced the following options:

In-Suite Peloton Bikes – Guests staying in one of the resort’s 21 ocean-front suites have access to outfitting their accommodations with a Peloton bike throughout their stay. For all other guests, Peloton bikes are available once checked into the resort on a first-come-first served basis for $75/day with a three-day minimum.

Private Fitness Studio – Guests have access to state-of-the-art equipment, such as an Aqua rower, Peloton bike, treadmill, recumbent bike, arc trainer, Terra Core units, weighted balls and more in a space completely their own. The studio, which is outfitted with both UV and HEPA filter air purification systems, accommodates up to four related persons at a time and costs $95 for one hour, $175 for two hours.

Pickleball – Grab the family and head to the new outdoor pickleball courts. This low-impact sport a smart way for all generations to get moving with a little friendly competition on the side. Cost is $25 per person for access to the pickleball and tennis courts.

Private Outrigger Canoe Paddling – Learn the basics of this ancient Hawaiian sport before heading out on the ocean with expert guides in this private experience. During the 45-minute paddle, guests likely will encounter sea turtles and other marine life. From December to May, that may also mean migrating humpback whales. The experience is complimentary and accommodates up to four related persons.

Pedego Electric Bikes – Get up and go on a single or tandem Pedego. This fun and easy-to-ride e-bike allows guests to explore the land with as little or as much effort as they’d want. A route recommended is heading south through Wailea and to Makena for the most picturesque ride. Pricing starts at $25 per hour.

Maui: On the Other Side of Paradise

Meanwhile, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has just finished a multimillion-dollar renovation to its 810 guestrooms and suites and its lobby. Guests who are ready to travel can take advantage of the resort’s several offers including “Stay, Learn and Play at Hyatt Regency Maui” and “Hyatt Regency Maui to Yourself.”

The “Stay, Learn and Play at Hyatt Regency Maui” includes accommodations in a newly renovated deluxe ocean front suite with a connecting room for “stay,” a private astronomy lesson from a NASA Ambassador Edward Mahoney on the rooftop to “learn,” and dinner during sunset and a stargazing experience on the rooftop to “play.” The package also includes exclusive access to the activity lawn that includes daybeds along with a $500 food and beverage credit, a spa treatment, a private hula dance class, yoga and meditation break, and an interactive wildlife experience with penguins and birds.

For the ultimate private and spacious vacation, Hyatt Regency Maui is also currently offering “Hyatt Regency Maui to Yourself” (810 rooms) offer as well as “Hyatt Regency Maui (Almost) to Yourself” (232 rooms). Both offers are inclusive of all food and beverage, for three nights, and feature culture immersion classes such as hula dance lesson and lei making, Hawaiian-inspired cooking and mixology classes, award-winning luau performance, paddle boarding lessons, nighttime Tour of the Stars, interactive wildlife experience, and yoga and meditation classes.

The resort is located on Ka’anapali Beach, a three-miles-long littoral of white sand and warm waters just north of Lahaina.
