Nashville Hotel Launches Trend in Accepting Cryptocurrency for Settling the Bill

The Bobby Hotel doubles down on “disruption chic” to usher in a brave new world in travel planning

Bobby Hotel may not be a household name … unless you live in a house that is weighted down by megabucks in bitcoin bank and happen to be passing through Nashville. The boutique property in the City of Twang, however, has become the first hotel in Nashville — and one of the first independent properties in the nation — to accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment for overnight reservations and event bookings.

In partnership with BitPay, a powerhouse provider in cryptocurrency services, guests of Bobby Hotel will now have the ability to utilize Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and stable coin, for their reservations and stays in Music City.

“As Bitcoin and cryptocurrency become more widely accepted forms of payment globally, it was important to find a way to provide our guests with the access and convenience of utilizing these currencies when visiting Bobby,” said Jeff Crabiel, Area General Manager of Bobby Hotel. “We’re leading the charge within Nashville in accepting cryptocurrency as we continue to seek out opportunities to better serve the needs of today’s traveler.”

Guests utilizing cryptocurrency for their stays at Bobby Hotel, can simply scan a QR code upon check-out, and payment through their individual crypto wallet fill complete the billing process. Cryptocurrency will not only satisfy a room charge, it is now accepted for event bookings as well, whether wedding, meetings, and private group dinners hosted at Bobby Hotel.

Bobby Hotel is part of Nashville’s creative community, offering accommodations steps away from the destination’s music and cultural artery. The hotel brings a few sought experiences to the scene, such as sipping craft cocktails in a retrofitted 1956 Scenicruiser bus at the Rooftop Lounge, or ordering from a creative international menu at Tavern at Bobby.

The 144-room Bobby Hotel opened in 2018. The nine-story property describes itself as a refuge for artistic freedom, offering live musical sets, rotating art exhibits and a collection of memorabilia from Bobby’s travels.
