New Four Seasons Opens in Boston’s Back Bay
All-New Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston brings new luster to the city on the Charles
Rising 61 stories above thriving Back Bay, the newly built Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston might be considered a beacon of modernity in one of America’s most historic cities.
The soaring glass skyscraper – now the city’s third tallest building at 724 feet – was designed by Harry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in collaboration with Gary Johnson of Cambridge 7 Associates. Surrounding the elliptical “guitar pick” shaped building are three distinct streetscapes by landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh, including a 5,000-square-foot park adjacent to the building’s grand entrance.
Amenities include full-floor spa and wellness center featuring a stunning indoor pool, light-filled event spaces, and the New England debut of Zuma restaurant. “Like the city, everything about this Hotel has a youthful feel,” says General Manager Reed Kandalaft. “It’s all forward thinking, fresh and contemporary at every turn.”
The Hotel’s 215 hotel rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows, strong soundproofing between floors and rooms and precision glazed windows, along with convenient at-your-fingertips in-room technologies.
Zuma, a global sensation dining experience bringing a sophisticated twist to traditional Japanese izakaya, serves contemporary Japanese cuisine from three kitchens: main, sushi counter and robata grill.
Also on-site is One + One, a go-to choice for power breakfasts with windows over the heart of Back Bay. Trifecta Lobby Bar brings chic cocktails and a menu of light fare by the Hotel’s Executive Chef Ellis Chong.
The spa and wellness center spans the entire 7th floor, providing a refuge above Boston’s busy streets. The spa itself includes five treatment rooms, with one designed for couples to share the spa experience together. The spa is complemented by a fitness studio, private yoga room and Pilates studio. But the focus here is on the 64-foot indoor lap pool that arcs with the building’s curved windows with soft lighting and private lounge spaces overlooking the city.
