New Orleans Welcomes Virgin Hotels

The hotel offers 238 rooms and suites in the Crescent City’s Warehouse District

Virgin Hotels has announced the opening of its latest property in New Orleans. The property, located on Baronne Street in the city’s Warehouse District, offers 238 rooms and suites.

The hotel’s design features local art, historical detailing and Art Deco elements along with tropical architectural motifs. Rooms range from 290 square feet to the 1,100-square-foot penthouse flat which has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking downtown New Orleans.

On the ground floor, Commons Club, the hotel brand’s flagship restaurant, bar and lounge, is designed to suggest a members-only social club. Contemporary Southern cuisine with Mediterranean influences highlights the menu, and entertainment will include local and national music acts.

Other F&B offerings include rooftop restaurant The Pool Club and 13th floor cocktail lounge Dreamboat. In addition, the hotel’s first floor hosts the brand’s Funny Library Coffee Shop, which serves La Colombe coffee and features a communal workspace with games and books sourced from local shops.

The hotel also features a 24-hour fitness center on the third floor, and 5,000 square feet of meetings and events space.

“This beautiful, new hotel will offer the distinctive ‘Virgin’ experience travelers know and love,” said James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels. “But we also have a real made-in-New Orleans ethos at play here, from the art and design throughout the hotel to the personalized experience we provide our guests.”

In addition to the Crescent City, the group’s portfolio also includes Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas and Nashville, with more properties set to open in New York, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Miami.
