New Service on Delta Bolsters Atlanta’s Ties with Hollywood
L.A.’s booming film industry is helped by two new flights between Atlanta and Burbank
Long connected by their ties to the entertainment and production industries, Atlanta and the LA Basin now have more connections than ever with the launch this month of Delta’s twice-daily service from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The new service makes Delta the only airline to offer service to the Southeastern U.S. from Burbank and the only airline to serve Atlanta from the four largest airports in the LA Basin, including Los Angeles International Airport, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Ontario International Airport and Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The flights operate on the following schedule:
ATL
Departs ATL at 8:55 am and arrives BUR at 10:29 am
Departs ATL at 7:10 pm and arrives BUR at 8:44 pm
BUR
Departs BUR at 11:10 am and arrives ATL at 6:42 pm
Departs BUR at 9:40 pm and arrives ATL at 5:04 am (next day)
Delta will operate Atlanta-Burbank service on Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 12 seats in First Class, 18 in Delta Comfort+ and 94 in the Main Cabin. The Burbank flights offer seat-back entertainment screens with free entertainment at every seat, as well as free messaging, access to Wi-Fi, access to power ports, and complimentary snacks and beverages.
The Burbank flight supports key industries in Los Angeles, including the entertainment and production industries, which have multiple studios within a few miles from Bob Hope International Airport.
Delta now offers 22 daily flights and has grown the number of seats it offers between the LA Basin and Atlanta by 18 percent with the addition of the two Burbank flights and two recently launched flights from Ontario to Atlanta, complementing the airline’s existing 14 flights from LAX to Atlanta and 4 flights from Orange County to Atlanta. In addition to Burbank-Atlanta service, Delta also offers service from Burbank to Salt Lake City, another key film production market. The airline will also launch service from Santa Barbara to Salt Lake City in August.
Meanwhile, Houston is on the Horizon
Delta is launching its state-of-the-art Airbus A220 aircraft on new flights between New York’s JFK International Airport and Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport this October, with customers enjoying best-in-class service on two daily flights connecting two of the largest business markets in the U.S.
For Houston customers connecting through JFK, the new service will provide one-stop access to international destinations such as Lagos, Nigeria; Dakar, Senegal; Accra, Ghana; and Tel Aviv, Israel.
Service will begin on Oct. 27, 2019, and will operate on the following schedule:

Departs IAH at 11:58 am and arrives JFK at 4:22 pm
Departs IAH at 6:22 pm and arrives JFK at 10:45 pm
JFK
Departs JFK at 8:00 am and arrives IAH at 11:19 am
Departs JFK at 2:55 pm and arrives IAH at 6:14 pm
Delta has grown its presence in New York City by over 65 percent in the last 10 years and today operates more than 520 peak-day departures from its hubs at LaGuardia and JFK.
Service to Houston from JFK complements the five daily flights Delta currently offers between Houston and Delta’s other New York hub at LaGuardia. Those flights also are operated on the A220, which features a modern and spacious interior, and an elevated, customer-friendly onboard experience.
