Hilton has announced the reopening of the New York Hilton Midtown. The 1,878-room Manhattan landmark has been closed since March 2020, part of a wave of hotel closures across the city brought on by plummeting occupancy rates due to the pandemic.
However with the slowly improving outlook for hospitality globally, that picture is now turning around for New York, as the Manhattan hotel scene is welcoming a raft of reopenings and new property debuts. The Hilton Midtown is the latest addition.
Located at 1335 Avenue of the Americas between 53rd and 54th Street, the property is five blocks from Central Park, two blocks from Radio City Music Hall and opposite the Museum of Modern Art.
The hotel offers the largest meetings venue footprint in the Big Apple, with 150,000 square feet of event space including the largest ballroom in the city. According to Hilton, the hotel’s Event Experience Team has “reinvented what is known as the traditional banquet and is focused on driving one-of-a-kind experiences for gatherings and events of all sizes.”
To welcome face-to-face experiences, the hotel is extending a “Back to Business” offer. Events booked by December 31, 2021 that occur between November 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 will receive complimentary event space upgrade and accommodations upgrade, as well as a choice of complimentary Wi-Fi or discounted coffee.
The hotel boasts the largest fitness center in Manhattan with Peloton bikes, including elevated cleanliness and disinfection protocols and Team Member training developed with Reckitt, maker of Lysol and Dettol.
In addition to welcoming back travelers, as a thank you to its Midtown neighbors who have shown great strength and resilience during the past 18 months of the pandemic, the New York Hilton Midtown will be surprising neighborhood baristas, grocery store employees, pharmacy workers, delivery workers and others with complimentary weekend stays.
“Reopening the doors of the New York Hilton Midtown is another step in the recovery of the great city of New York,” said New York Hilton Midtown general manager Diarmuid Dwyer. “Our team has used this time to reinvent our customer and guest experiences, and we are excited to welcome guests back to the hotel and the city.”
New York Hilton Midtown participates in Hilton’s guest loyalty program, Hilton Honors, which is currently offering its Power Up promotion. Members can earn 2X points on eligible stays, or 3X points on eligible stays when using their Hilton Honors Credit Card. The offer is valid on stays through December 31, 2021 at more than 6,600 Hilton properties worldwide.newyorkhiltonhotel.com
