Oneworld Adds Members and Capabilities to Digital Platform

Qantas becomes first carrier to deliver flight status information on connected system

Oneworld has announced that its new digital platform has added several carriers, as well as expanding the platform’s capabilities. Qantas has become the first member to deliver flight status information to partners on the digital platform. This follows the announcement in January that Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways became the first members to connect to the platform, which enables their customers to use either airline’s app and/or website to check in and receive boarding passes for connecting flights on either airline.

Two other members are close to completing their links to the platform – Iberia and Finnair. At the same time, the alliance is working on adding other digital services, such as baggage tracking, full seat selection and the ability to pay for additional baggage. As more airlines link to the platform and more capabilities are added, according to an announcement, it will cover an increasing number of transfers between oneworld member airlines.
