Preferred Hotels and Resorts has announced an extension of its loyalty program points expiration date for all members globally through June 30, 2021. Points normally expire after 24 months of inactivity.

Any points that were set to expire in the coming months will be available to redeem for I Prefer Rewards certificates which can be used as payment at participating hotels. The I Prefer program is free to join and allows members to earn points for eligible stays at participating hotels.

The program’s Elite members (those who have earned 50,000 points within one year of joining) will maintain their status through to June 30, 2022, regardless of their travel activity this year.

Members will not have to take any action for these extensions to occur, and the updates will be reflected in their accounts by the end of December 2020.

Preferred Hotels and Resorts is a collection of over 700 independent hotels and resorts worldwide, and has recently announced the addition of 20 properties to its portfolio, including nine in the US.
