Private Jet Company Offers Luxury Villa Stays

Both destinations are in high demand now after opening up to a safe, post-COVID environment. Mexico remains one of the few foreign countries that has opened its doors to US travelers.

Los Cabos recently received the World Travel & Tourism Council’s “Safe Travels” stamp of approval recognizing the implementation of global standardized health and hygiene protocols in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

NetJets Seeing European Rebound

For private fliers with sights set on Europe, NetJets has announced that it is reinstating all NetJets Europe pilots and cabin crew who were furloughed in April.

The private aviation company will restore a portion of the fleet in Europe to reach pre-pandemic flight levels serving customer demand and is adding more than 60 additional aircraft across the fleet worldwide between now and year-end 2021.

The commercial aviation industry has seen an extraordinary impact because of significantly reduced passenger volumes due to COVID-19. Private aviation fared much better and, although it has rebounded faster, it is not yet back to pre-pandemic levels.

Thus, NetJets’ fleet size went through a contraction in scheduled aircraft purchases. Fleet growth in Europe required the disposing of a small portion of that fleet, especially in light of international flying restrictions that had no end in sight. NetJets says the adjustments to fleet size were intended to insulate the company from deeper reductions while maintaining safety and service standards.

Meanwhile, there has a strong increase in new member or “owner” activity as more individuals and businesses find peace of mind in this facet of transportation. NetJets traffic in the US never fell as low as it did in Europe because domestic travel was not subject to the kind of border restrictions that significantly limited travel throughout Europe. Globally, NetJets says it is seeing days with flight volumes within 20 percent of the typical pre-pandemic levels.
