Qatar Airways Launches New Speedy Authorization System

The new online authorization system streamlines the application process with a 24-hour turnaround time

Qatar Airways expects to welcome ever more visitors from around the world to Qatar with the new electronic visitor authorization system, launched recently by Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar and Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC).

The new electronic visitor authorization system enables residents of Qatar to invite family and relatives from around the world to visit Qatar during the its ‘Summer in Qatar’ program and obtain a free visa upon arrival after applying through the online portal: www.qatarvisaservices.com.

“The new electronic visitor authorization system helps solidify Qatar’s ranking as an open country in the region in terms of visa facilitation,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr. Akbar Al Baker. “The implementation of this system is a significant achievement for Qatar, as it streamlines the application process, enabling visitors of all nationalities to apply to enter our country and receive a free visa upon arrival.”

Qatar is seen globally as an open destination in the Middle East and the eighth most open destination worldwide in terms of visa facilitation.

Discounts through Mid-August

Qatar Airways recently partnered with QNTC to offer passengers up to 25 per cent discount on airfares for all flights to Doha as a final destination from more than 160 destinations worldwide on bookings up to 15 August, enabling customers to enjoy the country’s widely touted “Summer in Qatar” activities. To book a flight, visit www.qatarairways.com/SummerInQatar.

This year’s ‘Summer in Qatar’ program includes entertainment with regional and international artists, edutainment, sports camps and special promotions on inbound travel, hospitality and shopping. Nine world-class malls across Doha will be participating in the festivities, offering retail savings of up to 70 per cent, and a chance to win up to USD $2 million in prizes (not surprisingly one of those prizes is a McLaren 570S). Qatar’s Museums, old souqs and cultural villages add to the destination’s vibrancy. More information: www.SummerInQatar.qa.

Passengers already booked on Qatar Airways flights can also take advantage of a worthy stopover package designed to give travelers transiting through Qatar the opportunity to explore Doha with luxury hotel stays and complimentary transit visas.

Qatar Airways currently operates a young fleet of more than 250 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) to more than 160 destinations worldwide. It is adding a number of other new destinations to its route network in 2019, including Davao, Philippines; Lisbon, Portugal; Mogadishu, Somalia and Langkawi, Malaysia.

Recently, the airline rolled out Qsuite. The patented Qatar Airways product has the industry’s first-ever double bed in Business Class, as well as privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room: a first of its kind in the industry.

The airline is a member of oneworld.
