Radisson Hotel Group has unveiled the 200-room Radisson Collection Hotel Bamako, the first property in Africa to open under the group’s premium Radisson Collection brand.

The hotel, which was formerly the Sheraton Bamako, is located in the capital city’s ACI 2000 district, close to embassies, corporate headquarters and government offices, and around 20 minutes from Modibo Keita International airport.

Features include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, 11 meeting rooms, a Grand Ballroom which can host up to 500 guests, and four food and beverage outlets – City Grill, G&G Café, Oasis Pool Bar and Legends Sports Bar.

The Radisson Collection Hotel Bamako joins the existing Radisson Blu Hotel Bamako in the Mali’s capital.

“We are delighted to open the doors of our first Radisson Collection hotel in Africa, in the heart of Bamako,” Tim Cordon, senior area vice president, Middle East and Africa, Radisson Hotel Group, said. ““In addition to the Radisson Collection hotels already under development in Lagos, Cairo, and Abuja, we believe the brand has strong further potential across the continent, as we continue to reinforce our presence in every key market.”
