The Shangri-La Group has announced changes for its 25-year-old Golden Circle loyalty program this year. In a New Year LinkedIn post, the hotel group announced the program will rebranded as Shangri-La Circle and a new invitation-only tier will be added.
The group said it would be unveiling plans later this month, including the introduction of a new top-level Polaris tier (not to be confused with United Airlines’ Polaris business class product), “offering the highest level of personalized privileges,”
Shangri-La has also created a new Polaris page on its website, which has this description of the new tier:
“Just as the North Star has served as the guiding light for travelers, Polaris leads the way into a brand-new world of personalized privileges at Shangri-La – curated for our closest members.”
Shangri-La’s web page says that following the Polaris debut, “Shangri-La Circle will be introducing a series of exciting changes starting January 2022, including a revitalized rewards program and enhanced digital platforms.”
According to miles and points website loyaltylobby.com, Polaris members will have access to Shangri-La club lounges, health facilities and meeting rooms even when they are not staying at the group’s properties.
Other benefits will include ten complimentary room upgrades, flexible check-in and checkout times, a dedicated concierge hotline, complimentary airport transfers and four hours complimentary “luxury car service” per stay.
Shangri-La Group says that “Shangri-La Circle is an evolution of Golden Circle, our award-winning loyalty program – driven by our commitment to innovate how we reward and engage with our guests.”
