Six Wyndham Grand Properties Set to Open in 2019

Locations include California, Mexico, Greece, Turkey, Vietnam and Georgia

Wyndham Grand, the upscale brand of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, will debut in six locations this year. Openings are planned for California, Mexico City, Cam Ran in southern Vietnam, Kayseri in central Turkey, the Georgian capital Tblisi, and the Greek island of Crete. The new hotels will join the brand’s 39 existing locations, which include Istanbul, Chicago and Shanghai.

“Travelers are seeking out new destinations and crossing borders more than ever before. In the last two decades alone the number of international travelers around the world has more than doubled to nearly 1.3 billion,” said Bob Loewen, chief operating officer for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. “We’re strategically expanding Wyndham Grand’s presence around the world in the destinations travelers so eagerly want to explore, whether it’s the shores of Greek Isles, a unique pocket of culture in Southern California, the centuries-old historic capital of Georgia or wherever their bucket list takes them.”

The new properties

Westminster California

Part of a multi-use development, Wyndham Grand in Westminster, Orange County will be the brand’s first hotel in California.

Its 144 guestrooms will make it the largest and only full-service hotel in Westminster. It will also feature meeting and event spaces and a full-service restaurant.

The location near Little Saigon tourist district on Bolsa Avenue will provide access to various Vietnamese dining options and cultural sites.

Wyndham Grand Cam Ranh, Vietnam

Wyndham Grand Cam Ranh sits on a 27-hole golf course overlooking the ocean. It will feature multiple restaurants and bars, swimming pools, spa and wellness facilities and a convention center. The coastal city of Cam Ranh is a growing tourist destination thanks to the recent expansion of its international airport.

Wyndham Grand Mexico City La Condesa, Mexico

The 400-room Wyndham Grand Mexico City La Condesa is the first Wyndham Grand in Mexico. Located in the historic Roma-Condesa neighborhood, Wyndham says the building will conserve the original architecture while adding contemporary interior design.

Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay, Greece

Wyndham Grand’s first hotel in the Greek islands, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay (above) takes over the Mirabello Beach and Village Resort in the Elounda region. It will have 311 guest rooms, meeting spaces, five restaurants and bars and a variety of leisure facilities spread across two popular beaches.

Wyndham is collaborating on the property with Zeus International, a hotel management and development services company in Greece. The companies are also partnering to bring the first upscale Wyndham-branded hotel to Cyprus, Wyndham Nicosia, and have agreed to develop 20 hotels over 10 years across Greece, Cyprus, Italy and the Balkans.

Wyndham Grand Tbilisi, Georgia

Wyndham Grand Tbilisi is due to open during the summer on Freedom Square, adjacent to the National Museum of Georgia. It will include 161 guest rooms and suites designed by Georgian architect Paata Jgarkava.

It will be managed by McInerney Hospitality International Georgia. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts also has Ramada Encore Tbilisi and Wyndham Batumi in the country, and plans to add four more over the next three years.

Wyndham Grand Kayseri, Turkey

Wyndham Grand Kayseri opened in mid-January. It has 205 guest rooms and eight meeting rooms, a gym and spa, and a traditional Turkish restaurant and onsite bar.

It is the fifth Wyndham Grand in Turkey and the first in Kayseri, a popular ski destination near the 60,000-acre Sultan Sazligi National Park.
