(SAA) is giving flyers heading to Johannesburg and Capetown a break by offering special Business Class fares to those who book before the end of March. Special fares from Washington Dulles to South Africa are available in its award-winning Premium Business Class Cabin. The airline operates the only daily direct service from the metro Washington D.C. area to South Africa.
Round-trip Business Class fares start from $3,959 from Washington D.C. to Cape Town and $4,139 to Johannesburg from Washington D.C. This fare is available for travel Monday through Thursday and can be used for travel through January 28, 2021, with tickets purchased by March 31, 2020.
“These lower fares offer travelers the opportunity to experience the luxury and comfort of SAA’s award-winning Premium Business Class at a tremendous value,” said Todd Neuman, executive vice president, North America for South African Airways.
The interior design of SAA’s A330-300s provide a comfortable environment for long-haul travel with warm, neutral colors, textures and finishes that are inspired by the airline’s African culture and heritage. In SAA’s seating configuration, the aircraft has the capacity for a total of 249 passengers, with 46 seats in Premium Business Class. The Premium Business Class cabin on the A330-300 offers 180° flat-bed seats with the convenience of direct aisle access for every passenger, gourmet meals, award-winning South African wine, on-demand entertainment system, noise cancelling headphones and power / USB ports at every seat along with increased privacy. Included in the Premium Business Class experience are luxurious lounge facilities to unwind and refresh.
The airline entered bankruptcy proceedings in December but received a $1 billion infusion from the South Africa treasury in a move that will keep the airline aloft during the restructuring process.
