SWISS Opens New Alpine Lounge at Zurich Airport

The new space brings new experiences and comforts to business travelers

SWISS opened a newly styled lounge with an alpine ambiance and a modern food and beverage concept in Zurich Airport’s Terminal A last week. The multi-sensory airport lounge experience spreads across 5,300-square-feet, occupying the former location of the First Class Lounge at Zurich Airport’s Terminal A. The space can accommodate up to 100 travelers.

Airport Mountain Chalet

Zurich’s new SWISS Alpine Lounge blends the charm of a rustic, but contemporary, mountain chalet highlighted by light-wood elements and the custom furniture, much of it hand-made by Swiss craft artisans. The quality alpine-style carpets and cushion covers are also hand-crafted and sourced from local Swiss manufacturers. Large communal wooden tables add to the chalet-like ambience, while the soaring windows present fabulous views of the apron area and flight activities.

Rustic and Sustainable Food Concepts

SWISS has taken a new direction with the lounge’s food concept as well. The centerpiece of the new SWISS Alpine Lounge is a rustic oven in which seasonal dishes are prepared. Additionally, guests are offered a range of ingredients to tailor the food to their particular taste. These options that customize their meals also help to reduce food waste. The beverages on offer include a selection of local Swiss wines and spirits. The wines are served using a new and more eco-friendly dispensing system that enhances both the quality of the wine and the lounge’s recycling credentials.

The new SWISS Alpine Lounge is open weekdays from 5:30 am to 6:30 pm. The lounge is available to Miles & More Senators, Star Alliance Gold Members and Business Class travelers on SWISS and other Lufthansa Group airlines.
