National Car Rental Extending Elite Status Access

National Car Rental, like most travel-focused concerns, is in the throes of restructuring its locations and resources and working with customers to ensure as smooth an experience as possible during the current pandemic.

To that end, to support members who are concerned about maintaining or qualifying for elite status in 2020, National is offering extra time to earn and keep hard-earned benefits.

Elite status will be extended

Current Executive and Executive Elite members will receive a one-year extension and keep their status through February 28, 2022.

Qualifying rentals and rental days will roll over

Any qualifying activity members have beyond their tier qualification will roll over to next year.

That means if a member has achieved elite status in 2020, any paid rentals or paid rental days gained have beyond their tier qualification will automatically roll over to 2021 to boost the possibilities of earning elite status for 2022.

For example: If one has 15 paid rentals this calendar year, and 12 paid rentals creating a qualification for Executive status, the remaining three rentals will roll over to 2021 and count toward elite qualification for the 2022 calendar year. If the member does not achieve elite status in 2020, all paid rentals and paid rental days will roll over to 2021 and count toward elite qualification in 2022.

Emerald Club Elite Tier Qualifications

Executive: 12 rentals or 40 rental days

Executive Elite: 25 rentals or 85 rental days

Rentals or rental days beyond these qualifications will roll over to next year and count toward elite qualification in 2021, as noted above.

Members who earned program reward free days (a free day covers base rate –Time & Mileage – only) will see they are now valid for one full year after the year in which they were earned. So any program reward free days earned in 2019 can now be used through December 31, 2020.

Branch Closures

Meanwhile, due to local government mandates and the disruption related to the ongoing world health crisis surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19), some of National’s rental locations are closed until further notice. At locations that are open, extra measures are being taken with each vehicle to ensure not only cleaning but also disinfecting.
