Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to open a new Radisson Blu hotel in the city of Sandy, UT, part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The property 235-room will be built in The Summit at the Cairns, a new mixed use development that is part of a new resort-style city center master plan.

The Radisson Blu Sandy-Salt Lake City will feature a rooftop grill house and cocktail bar, 21,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, spa facilities, and indoor and outdoor pools overlooking the Wasatch Mountains.

“The signing of this hotel displays our rapid growth of Radisson Blu in the recent months as we will be nearly doubling the brand’s portfolio in the Americas with four key hotel openings in Q4 of this year,” according to Phil Hugh, chief development officer, Americas, Radisson Hotel Group.

Other Radisson Blu properties set to open in the US before the end of the year include the Radisson Blu Anaheim close to the Disneyland Resort in California, and the Radisson Blu Fargo in North Dakota.

The group also added its first Canadian property under its Radisson Blu flag earlier this year, with the former Radisson Admiral Toronto Harbourfront undergoing “extensive renovation” to reopen as the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown.
