TAP Resumes Chicago and San Francisco Flights

Weekly service begins as carrier extends “Book With Confidence” protections for travelers dealing with COVID-19 restrictions

TAP Air Portugal has announced the relaunch of weekly nonstop flights to Lisbon from both Chicago O’Hare and San Francisco International. As the carrier returns to more North American destinations, TAP is offering its Book With Confidence protection for new bookings made through November, for travel that commences by March 15, 2021 (with the exception of holiday blackout dates from Dec. 14 to Jan. 16).

As Business Traveler reports in our Four Hours in Lisbon feature in the October/November issue, Portugal has travel restrictions for people flying from the US. Portuguese citizens and residents and European nationals may enter, but US travelers must meet one of the exemptions such as professional requirements, study or family reunion.

All travelers must provide a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours of departure, to board.

Book With Confidence allows a one-time rebooking free of charge on all flights operated by TAP, applicable on Discount, Basic, Classic and Executive fare products, but does not include any difference in fares or taxes for the new flight. TAP operates new Airbus aircraft on both routes and says it is committed to providing customers with “a clean and safe environment at all stages of their journey.”
