Three North American W Hotels Set for Spring Launch

Philadelphia, Toronto and Nashville are scheduled to debut in the coming months

Marriott has slated openings for two new W hotels in the US in the coming months, including properties in Philadelphia, Toronto and Nashville.

First up, the 295-room W Philadelphia is scheduled to open in March, part of a dual-branded Marriott development, together with the 461-room Element Philadelphia which has its opening in April.

Located in the city’s downtown area, the property will feature a swimming pool, Italian restaurant Dolce, and 45,000 square feet of events space across 22 meetings rooms.

In Toronto, the nine-story, 255-room W Toronto is set in the fashionable Yorkville neighborhood. The property, which was once the Bloor Yorkville Marriott Hotel, is nearing the completion of a $40 million renovation that began in July 2019. Opening date is April 1.

The new W Nashville, which was first announced in 2018, is currently set to open in May in the Gulch district of the city, between Nashville’s Music Row and Downtown areas.

The property offers 346 rooms, two restaurants, a gym, swimming pool, and meeting and events space including 3,600 square feet of terraces.

There will also be a rooftop bar with views of the Nashville skyline, featuring a central fireplace and “sliding garage doors along the perimeter.”

Counting the upcoming openings, the W Hotels brand currently has 28 properties in North America, part of a 59-hotel portfolio worldwide. Another 35 are in the pipeline, including W Edinburgh, W Gramado and W Playa del Carmen.
