Turkish Airlines Adding 30 B787-9 Dreamliners

Turkish Airlines will adding some 30 new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to its young and fast-growing fleet over the next four years

The Turkish national flag carrier has placed 25 firm + 5 optional orders for the Boeing  787-9 Dreamliner, to be gradually added between 2019 and 2023.

The first three  US gateways to see the fleet’s Dreamliners enter operation will be:

•         Washington DC – Aug. 8, 2019

•         Atlanta – Sep. 10, 2019

•         New York – Feb. 10, 2020)

The 787-9 Dreamliner will open new routes for Turkish Airlines, reinforcing its mission of flying to more destinations than any other airline with 311 destinations in 124 countries.

The 787-9 is powered by a suite of new technologies that allow it to fly 7,635 nautical miles in addition to carrying more cargo and allowing the airline to profitably grow its routes. It has a seating capacity for 300 passengers, including 270 economy class seats and 30 business class seats.

The wide-body cabin brings larger overhead luggage bins and extra-large windows, dimmable LED window shades, as well as new filtration technologies, better air pressure, and fatigue-reducing cabin humidity. Meanwhile, the engines, interior, systems, and equipment all feature vibration isolation to create a quieter on-board experience.

Business class offers a 1-2-1 layout with all-aisle access, enhanced privacy panels, personal closed stowage space, self-care mirror, and wide cocktail table maximizes space to offer ultimate comfort and introduces a privileged experience. Forty-four-inch legroom and a 180 full flat 76-inch seat bed length are provided for each of the 30 seats. The seat suite features an 18-inch HD video display and touchscreen remote, faux suede padding and other refinements.

Economy class seat offers 12- and 13-inch HD screens, a new functional literature pocket design, six-inch recline, and 31-inch legroom space.

New 787-9 Dreamliner routes will be servicing London, Dubai, Washington DC, New York, Atlanta, Mexico City, Cancun, Bali, Amsterdam, Delhi, Panama City, and Bogota by the end of August.
