Turkish Airlines Launches Second 787-9 Dreamliner Service from the US
The new celebrated aircraft now flies to Istanbul from ATL International Airport
Turkish Airlines launched its second 787-9 Dreamliner flight from the US in a move serving Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The airline announced last year that up to 30 new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will join its young and fast-growing fleet over the next four years.
The new service follows the aircraft’s first arrival to Washington Dulles Airport in Washington D.C. last month making Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport the second U.S. gateway operating Turkish Airlines’ Dreamliner aircraft. The plane will start flying to Istanbul from New York JFK on February 10, 2020.
The Dreamliner flight schedules from and to Atlanta are:
• TK 31 / IST – ATL / 14:05 – 19:40
• TK 32 / ATL – IST / 22:35 – 16:40
Regarded as one of the most advanced aircraft for its fuel efficiency and range flexibility, the 787-9 Dreamliner will be the workhorse of one of the longest journeys across 315 destinations in 126 countries.
The new aircraft has a seating capacity for 300 passengers, including 270 Economy Class seats and 30 Business Class seats. The carrier’s 787 includes long-haul Economy Class seats and a Business Cass platform/space produced in Turkey by Turkish suppliers, providing a new cabin experience for all passengers.
The wide-body cabins provide an elevated Business Class with all-new seats offering direct aisle access to all passengers, multi-functional full-flat seats, inflight products and amenity kits, 18-inch seat entertainment screens with tilt functions, 40-degree tilt self-care mirrors and more.
Daily Flights from Istanbul to Vietnam
As Turkish Airlines expands its fleet it is also expanding its route system as new service to Vietnam’s Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are now on the map.
Turkish Airlines started direct flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (previously only operated as connected flights) this week. The flights are now operated as: Istanbul (IST) – Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) – Istanbul (IST) and Istanbul (IST) – Hanoi (HAN) – Istanbul (IST) routes. The flag carrier will fly directly to Hanoi six days a week (except Sunday). Direct flights to Hanoi will increase to seven days a week in April 2020.
Ho Chi Minh City was added to the Turkish flag carrier’s flight network in December 2010. Located in the southern region of Vietnam, the city serves as the financial capital of the country, boasting the largest population, while drawing in the highest number of visitors with its pristine skyscrapers, ornate temples, and pagodas.
Turkish Airlines first started flying into Hanoi, one of the oldest capitals of the world, in June 2016. The city offers a plethora of historical architecture influenced by various societies. As the trade, cultural and education center of North Vietnam, Hanoi is also nearby to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
