United Airlines has announced that beginning Friday April 24, all flight attendants must wear face masks or face coverings while working making it the first US airline to enact this policy.  As previously reported, other airlines such as Air Canada have already required the same policy and more are expected to follow suit.  Based on other accounts, the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA)supports this position and also would like to have all passengers be required to wear face masks or face coverings as well.

While many in the United States are facing unprecedented stay at home orders, Americans are seeking signs for what the next phase of life will look like when we can start to venture out.  Face masks or face coverings will be a part of this.

In New Jersey,Governor Phil Murphy signed an executive order on April 8 requiring all shoppers in grocery stores to have face masks or face coverings and this is continuing to be expanded to many walks of life.  As Americans continue to shelter-in-place or work from home #wfh, ensuring the availability of an ample supply of face masks or other protective face coverings will be important to re-opening the economy.
