United Begins Operations From LGA’s Upgraded Terminal B

The new Eastern Concourse, featuring an enlarged United Club plus more shops and restaurants, opens June 2

United Airlines will begin flying out of the new gates at the Terminal B Eastern Concourse at New York-LaGuardia Sunday June 2. The launch marks the first phase of the $4 billion, 1.3-million-square-foot redevelopment of the terminal, part of a planned $8 billion transformation of LaGuardia airport. United will operate out of five gates at the new concourse, to destinations including Denver, Houston, Chicago and Washington.

As part of the Terminal B opening the airline will debut its new United Club lounge located after security near the airline’s gates. The 10,500-square-foot facility is 30 percent larger than the carrier’s previous Club lounge at the airport, and offers more than 200 seats.

According to United the lounge “combines the sleek styles of New York City with the modern touches travelers desire,” with an expanded food menu, free wifi and wellness rooms.

The concourse will have 13 new shops, restaurants and services, all inspired by “the best of New York” – from Shake Shack and local Irving Farm Coffee Roasters to an outpost of New York’s famous toy store, FAO Schwarz.

“A world-class city like New York deserves a state-of-the-art airport,” Jill Kaplan, United’s president of New York and New Jersey said. “Which is why we are absolutely thrilled to be moving our operations to the spectacular new Terminal B Eastern Concourse at LaGuardia Airport.”
